fruity snowballs

  • 2 1/4 cups flour
  • 1 cup butter
  • 1 tsp vanilla
  • 2 cups seperated powdered sugar
  • 1/4 cup Sunsweet Prunes or Dates finely chopped
  • 1/2 cup pecans finely chopped
  • 1/4 tsp salt

Preheat oven to 400*
For this recipe you will use 1/2 cup powdered sugar, the remaining sugar is reserved for rolling and dusting.
Finely chop nuts and either prunes or dates.
Soften butter and add 1/2 cup of powdered sugar and the vanilla. Cream together until smooth. Add all remaining dry ingredients minus the powdered sugar. Mix until smooth.
Roll into 1 inch balls and place on an ungreased cookie sheet. Bake for 9-12 minutes depending on your oven. Check after 9 minutes. bottoms should be a pale brown.
Allow to cool for a minute, then remove individually and roll in the remaining powdered sugar. I place mine on either parchment paper, or aluminum foil. Allow to cool a few minutes, the roll again. When all cookies are done, you can lightly dust the remaining powdered sugar over the cookies.
