- 2.5 cups Sunsweet Prunes
- 1 qt Buttermilk
- 1/2 tsp Cinnamon
- 1/2 tsp Ground cloves
- 1/2 tsp Allspice
Soak prunes in buttermilk overnight in refrigerator.
Put prunes and buttermilk in a pot and bring to a boil. Cover and reduce heat; simmer for 15 minutes.
Drain prunes. Reserve 1/2 cup of buttermilk.
Add spices, cornstarch, and sugar to prunes and mash until smooth.
Place bottom crust in 9-inch pie pan. Full with prune mixture and cover with top crust.
Brush crust with reserved buttermilk.
Cut slits in top crust and bake at 400 degrees until crust is golden brown.
